Seasonal Part-Time Network Technician
Location: On-site (various project locations)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Network Technician to support structured cabling and network infrastructure projects during peak project periods. This is a hands-on field role suited for technicians who are experienced in both copper and fiber network installations.
This role may involve working at heights (up to 30 ft), and additional pay is provided for height-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, route, and terminate CAT6 / CAT6A / CAT7 network cabling
- Perform cable dressing, management, and labeling per industry standards
- Conduct fiber optic splicing (fusion & mechanical)
- Operate testing equipment including:
- Fluke cable testers
- OTDR
- Light source & power meter
- Install patch panels, racks, cabinets, and network outlets
- Assist with network equipment installation (switches, routers, APs)
- Support basic routing configuration and network troubleshooting
- Interpret network diagrams, floor plans, and cable schedules
- Maintain organized, safe, and professional job sites
- Document completed installations and labeling
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in structured cabling and network installations
- Strong knowledge of:
- CAT6 / CAT7 termination standards
- T568A / T568B wiring
- Fiber optic splicing and testing
- Experience with network testing and certification tools
- Working knowledge of network routing basics (IP addressing, VLANs, switches, routers)
- Ability to follow technical drawings and labeling standards
- Comfortable working on ladders and lifts
Eligibility & Compliance Requirements
- Must be a Canadian citizen “For four years”
- Some project sites may require Government Security Clearance
- Must be eligible to pass background checks as required by project scope
Physical & Work Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in ceilings, server rooms, and construction environments
- Willing to work at heights up to 30 feet
